Chronic dissociation in childhood can lead to a dissociative disorder in adulthood. The most well-known of these is Dissociative Identity Disorder. This course will look at a range of topics including diagnosis and differential diagnosis, treatment plans, contracting and boundaries, pacing, working with different types of parts of the personality, pitfalls and landmines, processing trauma, and issues for the therapist.

Please note this day is aimed specifically at counsellors and psychotherapists working with dissociative clients in clinical practice.

The DABS National Resource Directory lists over 650 organisations across the UK and Ireland .These are arranged according to location and services offered. There are books for survivors and victims of abuse and sexual violence and who may be experiencing additional issues as a result. Other books are aimed at professionals working in this field.
